Marksburg

Fancy a trip to the Middle Ages? Then a visit to Marksburg Castle - the only hilltop castle on the Middle Rhine that has never been destroyed - is just the thing!

Marksburg Castle has been completely preserved as a medieval fortification with its buildings dating from the 13th to 15th centuries. Especially worth seeing are typical interiors such as the castle kitchen, knights' hall, bower, chapel, armory, wine cellar, battlements and tower room. A guided tour of the castle should not be missed!

Marksburg Castle is perched on a rock cone 90 meters above the romantic town of Braubach and is located directly on the Rheinsteig trail. A visit can therefore also be ideally combined with a hike.
