Summer events

At the Koblenz Wine Festival, Koblenz and the wine-growing regions of the Moselle, Ahr and Middle Rhine are put under the spotlight in a wide variety of events. We are already looking forward to the next edition of the wine festival!

Unique, unmistakable, breathtaking, multifaceted, charming - there are many attributes for the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley, which have to be lived up to every year anew musically at the most beautiful venues. The festival offers an exceptionally wide-ranging program with top-class events featuring big names and young talents.

In 1975, some residents of the old town started this festival to draw attention to the urgency of the (now completed) Altstadtrenovation. From humble beginnings, a large festival has developed that has a good reputation beyond the city limits. Music and entertainment are offered on all squares. Here you can also meet real "Schängel", listen to "Kowelenzer Platt" and possibly even hear one or two "Stekkelcher", stories from the everyday life of the people of Koblenz, some of which have only been passed down orally.

The event, which has been held in July or August every year since 1992, the year of the 2000th anniversary of the city of Koblenz, is visited by over 50,000 people every year. The festival of cabaret lasts three days and has been held permanently at Festung Ehrenbreitstein since 2016.

On Saturday and Sunday, selected (inter)national jugglers, walk-act artists, jugglers and clowns will fascinate and enchant visitors of all ages on stages, squares and in the domed hall under the open sky in the middle of Festung Ehrenbreitstein. On Friday and Saturday evening there will be the Variety Gala on the Sparkasse stage. The grand finale will take place on Sunday evening. The best seven will present their skills. A jury determines the winners and awards the cabaret prizes as the crowning glory of the weekend.

The OPEN AIR Festival directly at the German Corner. in 2024 the Kaiserfestival goes into the next round.

3 days, 4 stages, 100,000 visitors. That is the Koblenz SchängelMarkt, the largest folk and city festival in northern Rhineland-Palatinate.

Live music with well-known bands or newcomers are just a few of the many musical highlights this weekend. Fashion shows with the latest fall and winter fashions for the coming season provide an attractive change.

On SchängelMarkt Sunday, as every year, the retail trade in the city center and the industrial park also invites visitors to stroll and shop from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
