The Vintners of Koblenz
The Romans brought the first vines to the region back then. Since then, this ancient tradition has been cultivated and manifests itself in the Weinstadt Koblenz in about half a million vines. Both on the Rhine and on the Moselle, winegrowers can demonstrate their outstanding skills and present the best from these two famous wine-growing regions. At wine and vintner festivals, at the vintner's personally, in one of the rustic Straußwirtschaften, but also in the many wine taverns, restaurants and pubs on the river banks, you can also wonderfully enjoy a few pint and immerse yourself in the world of Bacchus.

Viticulture Josef Sauerborn
For over 200 years, the Sauerborn family - today as a sideline - has been cultivating wine in the Moselweißer Hamm for several generations. In the past, the wine was primarily sold as bulk wine, from 1951 began the exclusive marketing via the bottle. It is worth mentioning that from 1987 onwards, red grapevines (Portugieser) were planted again for the first time by the winegrowing company in Moselweißer Hamm or in the Koblenz part of the Mosel winegrowing region. Since 2004, a Pinot Blanc from our own production has also been put on sale; however, the focus is on the cultivation of the Riesling grape typical of the Moselle. From the own Riesling and Weißherbst wine, also Winzersekte after the traditional bottle fermentation are offered. The entire cultivation takes place under environmentally friendly aspects on small terraces in the steep slope; the use of herbicides and insecticides is completely avoided. The individual wine treatment in the cellar is gentle and quality-preserving.
