Stefan's Koblenz

Experience Koblenz like...
Stefan Ohlwein
Goode and welcome to Koblenz! Stefan Ohlwein has been an integral part of Koblenz tourism for 25 years. For him, Koblenz is by far the most beautiful small city in Germany. Even the dialect, which took some getting used to in the beginning, has really grown on him. What makes the city special for him? The proximity to the water, the nature and, above all, the great people.

Personal Highlights
Stefan's favorite place
Ehrenbreitstein Fortress
His first trip up to the fortress on the cable car was a little intimidating; today Stefan gets on the cable car as if it were a bus. There is something mystical about the fortress for him. The view of the Deutsches Eck from the upper courtyard is unique! It always makes for astonished faces and enthusiastic "oohs" and "ahs" among visitors.

The tourist magnet
The Deutsches Eck
Everyone who comes here asks: Where is the Deutsches Eck? And Stefan's answer is quite simple: Just follow one of the rivers and you'll get there eventually! Even after the 20th, 30th or 40th visit, Stefan and his guests always end up in the beer garden or the ice cream parlour at the Deutsches Eck. And in winter, after a walk around the Kaiser, it's straight back into the warmth.

Stefan's insider tip
The Rittersturz
The Rittersturz in the Koblenz city forest never ceases to fascinate Stefan Ohlwein. This is a place steeped in history with a sensational view of the city that you can't find anywhere else.

Rhine in Flames Koblenz
Rhine in Flames is the highlight of the year for Stefan Ohlwein. With numerous visitors on board the boats and at the Koblenz summer festival, it is one of the biggest events in Rhineland-Palatinate. But other events are in no way inferior. Electronic Wine, for example, is sensationally popular–not only in Koblenz, but also beyond the region.
