Immerse yourself in the year 1830 and spy on the Prussian fortress with the royal English engineer officer. The proven expert in military and fortification engineering was able to walk around the Prussian fortress, describe it in detail and even draw up plans. An
astonishing achievement, as the fortress was a restricted military area and had only just been completed at the time. Humfrey's descriptions were published a few years later in both English and German. The work was made freely available to everyone in German bookshops, including Koblenz.
